Curatorial Projects > somewhere in advance of nowhere: youth, imagination and transformation (2008)

This map lists locations and descriptions of publicly installed portraits by Evan Bissell, on view throughout San Francisco through December 1, 2008. All portraits were created in 2007-2008, and are acrylic and oil pastel on prepared media mounted on wood panel.

Additionally, this map lists locations and descriptions of Intersection's Youth, Imagination and Transformation Project Advisers, all of whom are part of Intersection's Community Partner Program. The purpose of the Youth, Imagination and Transformation Project Advisers is to provide Intersection, audiences, members, resident artists, staff and the Bay Area community with a greater understanding of the opportunities in creative transformative experiences available to youth through art and education in the Bay Area.

Please feel free to take a copy of the map of portrait locations and the booklet featuring over 50 organizations offering art and education opportunities for San Francisco Bay Area youth. While this list is by no means comprehensive, we highlight these organizations because they offer free and affordable ways for young people to cultivate creativity, imagination, self and social awareness.
