"My father was born in 1947 in Kobe, Japan. As an ethnic Chinese he immigrated with my grandparents to San Francisco around 1949. Growing up in San Francisco's Chinatown, he's managed to retain his fluency in Cantonese yet has fostered a very atypical Chinese-American outlook on life. I suppose this is key factor in what marks his very unique personality. He's not like most fathers. While he fulfills most of the typical responsibilities expected from a father, his outlook on living is what carries on to us the most: the gift of a childhood sense in seeing and enjoying the world. With a slight streak of mischief and wonder, he's giving us something to smile about. A passion to be who you are, to be proud of what you are and mostly to enjoy what you are with a smile, wink and a nod. This is my father and he is the family." - Sean Marc Lee
