Curatorial Projects > Paper Bullets: A War of Words (2004)

Patrick Piazza
Reverberation Project, 2004
3.5" x 5.5" cards, balloons, DVD

Based on an instructional pamphlet entitled "The Relationship Between Numbers of Leaflets Disseminated and Communication Achieved" produced by the Air Research and Development Command of the Human Resources Research Institute based at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama in January 1954, Piazza transposed the exercise to a San Francisco, CA audience by launching his own version of a postcard inquiry from the top of Twin Peaks. He designed his own postcard with his own questions and then tied them to helium balloons. Postcards were return addressed to the gallery. Some reached as far as Castro Valley.
