Phantom View from the Mancuso Furniture Showroom, 2005
Salvaged windows and wood, archival video footage from 1906 San Francisco earthquake
Built in the corners where mattresses were once stocked, this installation references the lost ground of the Mancuso Furniture Showroom. The chair and mattress dangle where the original floor used to be, the historical earthquake footage superimposed with branches and crows reflect the treachery and decay of time passage in this location and the resilience of creative survival.
